Surgical site infections (SSIs) are among the most common and costly healthcare-associated infections in the United States — and they are also among the most preventable. Working with Medline, I created a system at Adler Design that combines products and education to help standardize practice, drive patient compliance, and reduce the risk of hospital-acquired infections. This page focuses on the design for Providence hospital; however, this system has been adopted by a variety of hospital systems, including Dignity Health, UCLA Health, NYC Health+hospitals, and others.
